About Ubivis
3 questionsWe are an end-to-end industrial platform connecting IoT, Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. We collect data straight from the machines, centralize it in the cloud and deliver everything from operational dashboards to autonomous process optimization — all from a single vendor. Our solution is made up of three integrated products: UbSmart (IoT and monitoring), UbPred (predictive maintenance) and UbGenius (prescriptive AI).
If you want to increase your plant's efficiency, reduce line downtime, improve production rate, optimize labor and reach the full capacity of your operation — Ubivis can help. Our platform turns machine data into strategic decisions, eliminating the operational blind spots most factories still face.
Ubivis was founded in 2015 and has more than 10 years of operation with real customers across the largest industrial complexes in Brazil. We already serve companies such as Petrobras, Shell, Vale, Volkswagen, Nissan, Usiminas and M. Dias Branco, among others. We have offices in Curitiba and in East Lansing, Michigan — USA, and an active contract with Shell for operations in the Gulf of Mexico. We are an established company, not an early-stage startup.
Platform & features
6 questionsWe are far more than that. Beyond OEE metrics and their derivatives, our main role is to deliver decision-making data to leadership on the shop floor. The COP (Production Optimization Console) delivers in real time: OEE, chronological analysis of downtime and scrap, MTBF/MTTR, spec sheet deviation, failure reports, BI, Digital Twin, anomaly detection and, at the most advanced level, software-based robotics with AI applied to the production line.
The COP is the central interface of the Ubivis platform — the environment where operators, supervisors and managers access operation data in real time. It organizes information by user level: the operator sees status, alerts and work orders; management accesses dashboards for efficiency, availability and KPIs. All in a single environment, with no need for external tools.
Leadership can use the platform to generate reports, track efficiency trends by machine, line or plant, and gain strategic insights for investment and operational decisions.
Yes. If your company does not track OEE, Ubivis calculates this indicator automatically from the collected data. If your company already uses other performance indicators, get in touch so we can assess how to adapt to your reality.
It depends. The UB-IoT needs some signal to capture — whether from a PLC, sensor, drive or any other device that generates a measurable data point. On lines with some level of instrumentation, even a basic one, it is possible to connect. On 100% manual lines with no signal collection point, there is no way to capture data automatically. Get in touch so we can assess what is possible in your operation.
Any industrial sector can benefit. We already have implemented cases in: food, automotive, oil and gas, mining, steel, pharmaceutical, metalworking, sanitation and others. What matters is having machines, processes and the need for more visibility and operational efficiency.
Deployment
6 questionsAfter the installation and configuration of the UB-IoT device — including signal mapping, product registration and indicator setup — data starts appearing on the dashboard in real time. Configuration time varies with the complexity of the operation. For predictive maintenance algorithms, we recommend at least 3 months of history for more accurate results.
Not necessarily. Ubivis built a no-code system: the data collection gateway configuration and the performance calculations are done by answering a step-by-step questionnaire, with no programming. Our deployment team follows the process and provides support, tutorials and explanatory videos. For more complex integrations with ERPs or legacy systems, Ubivis technical support is actively involved.
The UB-IoT needs connectivity to send data to the cloud — compatible with 4G, Wi-Fi, Ethernet and NB-IoT. In case of a temporary connection drop, the device stores data locally and synchronizes as soon as the connection is restored, with no loss of information.
Yes. The UB-IoT connects to PLCs, CNCs, sensors, drives, batch equipment (tanks, mixers, coaters, reactors) and even lines with some instrumentation. It is compatible with more than 80% of PLCs in the global market.
Yes. Ubivis works with companies of all sizes. The contract value scales with the number of contracted machines — you can start with a single machine and expand as your operation evolves. Get in touch to receive a proposal that fits your context.
From installation and configuration, data already appears in real time in the COP. For richer trend and production-pattern analysis, we recommend at least 30 days of collection. For AI-based predictive maintenance algorithms, the ideal point starts at around 3 months of history.
Hardware & infrastructure
5 questionsThe UB-IoT is a device provided on a loan basis (commodatum) with two network interfaces — one for the internet and another for the automation network. It collects data directly from the PLC or via analog and digital sensors (8 digital inputs and 8 analog inputs, 0-10V and/or 4-20mA). After collection, the data is sent encrypted to the cloud in real time.
The UB-IoT is a rugged device designed for industrial environments. In case of a hardware failure, Ubivis performs the replacement as part of the loan agreement. Firmware updates are done remotely by the Ubivis team, with no need for on-site intervention.
The hardware (UB-IoT) is installed in the factory, close to the monitored machines or in the electrical panel. Processing, storage and visualization of the data happen in the cloud, accessible via browser on any device — computer, tablet or phone. No local server is required.
None. The UB-IoT connects to any machine via analog or digital signals, with no need to retrofit or replace equipment. There is no need to invest in servers, a dedicated network or additional infrastructure. Your only investment is with Ubivis.
Ubivis was designed to eliminate the main barriers to technology adoption in industry: the high cost of digitalization, the difficulty of collecting data straight from machines, the lack of a culture for new technologies, the complexity of managing large data volumes and the need to hire specialists outside the company's core business. Our no-code approach and our deployment team accompany every step of the process.
Integrations
4 questionsYes. For custom projects, we provide a connection to BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau via database protocol. The integration lets the platform's data feed dashboards that already exist in your company.
Yes, this integration is possible at an additional cost. Our team assesses the scope of the integration based on the ERP and the data that needs to be cross-referenced.
Yes. The platform allows exporting data as an Excel spreadsheet (.xlsx) and CSV, in addition to exporting charts directly from the interface.
Yes. Ubivis can be integrated with existing MES and SCADA systems, working as a complementary layer for collection, analysis and intelligence on top of the data already available. Feasibility and scope are assessed case by case by the technical team.
Data security
2 questionsData security is handled in multiple layers: TLS 1.2/1.3 encryption in transit and AES-256 at rest; authentication with login, password and MFA support; granular authorization by user and operation; and best practices recommended to users, such as unique passwords and periodic permission reviews. The UB-IoT hardware must also be kept secure against unauthorized physical access in the factory.
The collected data is the exclusive property of the customer. Ubivis accesses operational information only for technical support purposes, with explicit authorization. No production data is shared with third parties or used for any other purpose without formal consent.
UbGenius & Artificial Intelligence
3 questionsNo, unless the customer explicitly enables automatic mode. UbGenius operates in three modes: manual (recommendations only), semi-automatic (the operator approves before execution) and automatic (the AI applies the adjustments directly via integration with the PLC). The choice of mode is always the customer's — the AI never acts autonomously unless that is configured and authorized.
No. UbSmart and UbGenius are independent products — you can contract one without the other. They share the same platform foundation, but each operates autonomously. UbGenius can be deployed directly in an operation that already has a data infrastructure, even if it is not via UbSmart.
The entry point is having data collected reliably and continuously. With 3 to 6 months of quality history, it is already possible to start the first UbGenius models. There is no need for a data science team or prior AI infrastructure — Ubivis handles the entire technical layer.
Support
1 questionThe Ubivis support team accompanies the customer from the UB-IoT installation through the complete configuration of indicators and dashboards. We provide tutorials, explanatory videos and direct assistance for technical questions. For more complex projects, a Ubivis specialist is assigned to the deployment process.
Commercial
2 questionsUbivis operates on a SaaS (Software as a Service) model — a recurring subscription based on the number of monitored machines. The UB-IoT hardware is provided on a loan basis, with no need to purchase it. The contract includes the platform, technical support and updates. Get in touch to receive a proposal that fits your size and needs.
It depends on the project. For larger-scale projects involving AI solutions such as UbGenius, Ubivis can run a Proof of Concept (PoC) to validate the solution in the customer's real environment before a definitive contract. For UbSmart, contracting moves directly to deployment. The scope is defined together with the commercial team.
